Since November 1996 I have been working for Tadpole Technology in Cambridge as a Software Engineer. I mostly work on operating system software, usually Unix-like operating systems (in particular kernel / device driver work on Sun's Solaris) although I have done some low level work with micro-controllers
I finished studying for an M.Sc. in Computing Science in the Department of Computing of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne at the beginning of October 1996. I graduated from Newcastle in December 1996.
My M.Sc. Dissertation was a Motorola 68000 emulator for the RISC OS operating system.
Before doing the M.Sc. my first degree was a B.A. at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge. This turned (as if by magic!) into a M.A. in March 1999
Although my degree was in Natural Sciences, I eventually specialized in Chemistry (mostly Physical/Inorganic) and studied other subjects such as Crystalline Materials, Physics, Mathematics and History & Philosophy of Science along the way.
